Submerged Forest
Haworth Hodgkinson
Ocean rising,
salt pebbles resound
from soft trunks.
Mirror fish nibble
unfamiliar acorns, catkins,
air leaves and earth roots
preserved in brine,
and perching birds drown chirrups
beaking bubbles.
Ivy seaweed binds
bluebells and mushrooms
and dolphins chorus
far above the clouds.
